Guests to a wedding enjoy bringing gifts home. These gifts, called wedding favors, are presented to them by the married couple. Wedding favors can be can be anything that the bride and groom feel that the guests will enjoy. In the old days, wedding favors were only given out by royal couples. Sugar represented wealth during those times, and the royal couple would give their wedding guests sugar packs as gifts. Obviously, things have changed since then, and now it’s common for all wedding couples to give out wedding favors.

Wedding favors play a very important role in weddings. They are an important factor that brides and grooms need to think about as they plan their big day. There are countless choices for wedding favors. Couples can buy them, make them, customize them, personalize them, etc. They can give out wedding favors that match their style as well as their wedding theme.

Most couples choose to give out wedding favors that their guests can use after the wedding: candles, soap, salt and pepper shakers, photo albums, silverware, etc. These wedding favors do seem practical, and they can be ordered from wedding gift stores online. These items can be ordered in large bulks, and they are inexpensive.

Some couples choose to give out food items as wedding favors. Some popular choices are: chocolate, cookies, peanut butter candy, wine, and champaign. The couple can either make the chocolate and/or cookies themselves, or order it online. Online wedding gift stores typically wrap the chocolate pieces and cookies up in pretty little boxes. The chocolate and cookies are also made in different shapes, in order to add a touch of creativity.

There are quite a few couples choosing to make their own wedding favors these days. Handmade wedding favors are becoming more popular as the brides and grooms find that making them can be an enjoyable experience. As mentioned above, chocolate and cookies can be handmade. They can also make arts and crafts gifts to give out to their wedding gifts. Arts and crafts gifts can include: handmade bird houses, figurines, scrap book albums, soap, candles, spa items, and more. Handmade wedding favors are very creative ideas, and they can reflect the personalities of the bride and groom.

Another good choice for wedding favors is giving out gifts that represent the theme of the wedding. Couples who choose to marry on a beach, for instance, can give out nautical or beach type wedding favors. Religious couples who marry in a church or other place of worship can give out items that represent their spirituality. A bride and groom who marry on Christmas can give out wedding favors that symbolize Christmas, including angel figurines, star figurines, stockings stuffed with little gifts, etc.

If you’re getting married soon, then you’ll need to decide what kind of wedding favor would be best for your guests. What do you think they would enjoy the most? Practical gifts, homemade gifts that you yourself put together, food, etc…? You’ll need to make a list of all of your invited guests and evaluate what you think they would appreciate most. Your wedding day will be the most memorable day of your life, and you’ll want to share the memories with all of your guests, as well. What better way to do that than by giving them special wedding favors that they will love and enjoy?

Edible wedding favors are definitely the way to go! Sometimes your guests will throw/store away your favor, but if they are edible, they will definitely put it to good use! ;) I know that chocolate wedding favors have become quite popular! Great post!
