Wedding day is the most special day for every couple. There are numerous reasons that a wedding is so special, including the reception. The bride and groom want their special day to be a memorable event not just for them, but for the guests as well. One way to get the guests to always remember the wedding reception is by giving them favors. Wedding favors represent souvenirs from the special day, and by giving them out to all the guests, the couple is showing their appreciation. No wedding reception is complete without the bride and groom passing out favors.

Traditionally, wedding favors were given out by the wealthy aristocrats. Some of the earliest favors were sugar cubes. They were small boxes, in the shape of cubes, that were made out of crystal or porcelain. As the name suggests, they were filled with sugar. Sugar was a symbol for those who were wealthy and royal. As time went by, the cost of sugar went down significantly, and now everyone can pass out wedding favors. No matter how wealthy or how poor a bride and groom are, they should be able to afford wedding favors for all their guests.

One traditional wedding favor to give out are flowers or plants. Everyone appreciates flowers and plants. This will especially be a good idea if many of the guests are into gardening. Guests that live in apartments or condos can be given house plants. There are endless types of both flowers and plants out there, so the couple can’t go wrong with giving them out as wedding favors. The bride and groom can even tie pretty ribbons around the plants to add a bit of creativity.

Food is also a popular wedding favor, especially sweets. Cookies, chocolate, jars of honey, mints, and other types of sweets should keep all the guests happy. Wedding couples who have a strict budget can pass out chocolate chip cookies or hershey’s kisses. They can even bake their own cookies! Taking the time to bake cookies for guests not only shows appreciation, but it is inexpensive as well. Couples that can afford a bit more can order expensive chocolates or cookies online. They can also order drinks like champagne bottles and wine bottles to pass out along with the food.

Another thing that everyone loves is fragrances. People love good smelling candles and soaps, both of which are easy to obtain. They can be ordered in bulk on the Internet or at local dollar stores. They can also be made. As far as traditional wedding favors go, candles especially tea lights, are high up on the list.

Last but not least, another traditional wedding favor is coaster sets. Coaster sets come in different styles and makes, and they are all beautiful. Some coaster sets even include a place to put photos. Wedding guests can place their favorite picture from the night inside the coasters as a way to always remember the celebration.

There are obviously traditional wedding favors that are very nice and meaningful. The wedding event should be cherished by all who attend, and giving out memorable wedding favors is a great way to let all the guests know that they are cherished.
